Last week my mom gave me a fantastic loaf of Challah bread out of her freezer that I had the intention of using for french toast. That took a backseat when I was craving something salty and cheesy and found out Challah makes the best garlic toast on earth.

Thus, the birth of my new favorite snack/meal/wonder food.

Ingredients:
(4 servings)

8 slices Challah bread, cut 1/2-3/4″ thick
4-6 TBS butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
8 oz sharp cheddar, shredded
1/2 tsp dried oregano

Preheat oven to 350F.

Spread at least 1/2 TBS butter on each slice of bread then sprinkle garlic salt evenly on top. Top each slice with 1 oz of cheese then sprinkle a pinch of oregano.

Bake for 5-7 minutes just until cheese is bubbly and edges are toasted.

Devour.
