Before I forget, here are the daily photos and poems from the last three days:

Precious butter, you
make the world a better place
I love you dearly

Too many bottles
make empty shells of people

Plus two photos from last week that I forgot to blog:

And lastly…this:

I’ve been making a lot of changes lately. One thing I’ve decided is that I want to try and take at least one photo and write a poem every day.

This morning I went to the front yard for picture-taking and used magneticpoetry.com to write the haiku for today.

Photo & Haiku for 04/02/10

Coffee & fresh air
Breathe deep & drink from the cup
This cloudless morning

New Headshot

Filed Under Blog | 1 Comment

So, while visiting at my parents house a few days ago I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with dad to give him a new headshot.

headshot

Canon Rebel XT, 50mm 1.8

Set up was simple – BIG window in front, white sheet for a backdrop (held up by being draped over a tripod and some…metal decorative thingy) and had my mom hold a large white canvas on his left side to bounce light onto his face.

Ta-da! I know that was a short post but I’ll be writing and putting up more photos soon :)

The boys

Filed Under Blog | 2 Comments

I got a call from my aunt Melissa the other day requesting some head shots of her boys. I went over yesterday for an hour or so for a shoot with the adorable little maniacs.

(Set up: Me, their backyard, Rebel XT, 50mm 1.8, and the sun)

Also edited a few for fun.

The “outtakes” aka what they did 99% of the time :)

Don’t you just want to pinch their cheeks?!

And now…tea time.

Doesn’t that title sounds so ridiculous? Like “E! True Hollywood Story!”. I couldn’t resist though.

My friend Audrey was in town yesterday performing a free concert. (If you haven’t heard of her yet, you probably will soon. She has a mind-blowingly beautiful voice and one of her most recent projects was writing and performing the song Winter Snow with Chris Tomlin. <--youtube link)

I got a last minute message to come early and hang out before the show so I hopped in the truck and nervously drove through the nasty 17-92 traffic to get there (I hate driving most of the time because of the horrible Florida drivers. I break out in a sweat, I get panicky...it's very tiring)

Well, I made it there fine and was able to spend a fantastic few hours with Audrey (also got to see Heather, another friend I hadn't seen in ages, and ran into my husbands cousin, Brian!).

I basically just followed her around for the several hours before the show and took photos the entire time. The security was hilariously tight and I felt way too important being escorted around by them as I walked with Audrey and the other artists. I really can't remember anyone's name (sorry guys!) but they were all extremely friendly and no one put up a fuss with my constant snapping of photos.

I'm putting my favorite 15 here in the post, the rest you can view in my Flickr set here: Flickr Set – Audrey Assad in Concert.
